The Triangle Math Teachers’ Circle is an initiative hosted by the Department of Mathematics at North Carolina State University, in the same way that the Chapel Hill Math Circle is hosted by the Department of Mathematics at UNC Chapel Hill. It welcomes anybody interested in the teaching profession, at any level, with an interest in learning and practicing the pedagogical approaches of math circles as they pertain to creative problem-solving. This initiative collaborates with the Chapel Hill Math Circle and is a member organization of the Math Teachers’ Circle Network and the North Carolina Network of Math Teachers’ Circles.
We have secured professional development credit for CHCCS teachers and are trying o reach similar arrangements with other school districts. Meetings take place roughly one Saturday per month, rotating between NCSU and UNC Chapel Hill.
